Planning and Sub-Base Preparation

Mark Out the Area:

Use stakes and string lines to outline your target decking frame. Clear away all turf and soil to a depth of roughly 150mm.

Lay the Foundation:

Cover the excavated ground with a heavy-duty weed membrane and a 50mm layer of gravel or hardcore to prevent weeds from growing up through your boards.

Sand the Wood:
