Our Story
James Doyle founded Doyles in 1884, first opening its doors for business on St Patrick's Day, ever since being referred to locally as "Doyles of the Shamrock". Since then, the business has grown through four generations of family ownership. Under the leadership of Michael Doyle, the company expanded from a traditional hardware, grocery, and bar business into a leading builders' merchant and hardware retailer.
Michael led the relocation of the business in 2004 to a modern site in Graiguecullen, providing customers with easier access and ample free parking. Having been a central driving force behind the establishment of Topline in 1972, the business fully rebranded to Topline Doyles in 2007.
